So i just rebuilt my lt500 due to a stripped head bolt and fire it up and let it run. After a couple minutes warmin up i hop on and take it on a test ride and it seems to be runnin ok untill it winds up all the way and sounds like its about to explode so i dump the clutch and its still doin it so i try the kill switch and key but no succsess. So i start to go for the spark plug wire and before i reach in it dies. Fired it up many times and still seems to stick open and not turn off. Any ideas need help

Only 2 things it can be, throttle is stuck open. Just check the slide to make sure it's closed. Or you have a bad air leak. This would be my bet. Probably didn't seal something up right. If it revs out like that hit the choke real quick or you will fry the piston from running lean. Only way I know to check it without building a leak tester is to spray carb cleaner around all the gaskets while running and see where it kills the motor. The problem is that you don't want to run it with it revving out like that.

Surely as the previous poster said its the throttle cable or slide plate its stuck.
