I am new to quads so I'm not really sure what is wrong with my quad. I had it bore and put a Wiseco 1.5mm piston in it. When I started it, it ran for a minute and then wouldn't start after that. I used a 50:1 ratio, should use this or a different one? Also, do I need to adjust the carb, if so what to? I am new to this kind of stuff so help would be great appreciated. Thanks

Umm this is not something you should be doing if you are new to working on quads. I'm thinking that your problem that the piston you chose was too big for the cylinder and when it heated up and expanded there was not enough room for the piston to move up and down therefore stalling your engine. And yes your going to need to adjust your carb

if you did bore out your cylinder, one of your piston rings might have gotton stuck... my dirtbike started up for a second then died cuz the ring got stuck so you would want to take off the cylinder and unstick that ring and put some oil on it... when i put a new top end in my dirtbike i also ran 12-1 for brake in oil...
but of course mine is a dirtbike not a quad so it might be diff but i dought it
Your first issue is that your mix ratio should be 20:1, so drain your gas and redo the mixture, put in a new spark plug and you might be somewhere with your situation.
Get a clymers manual so that you can get all your torque specs right. Very use full if you plan on keeping the bike.
I have had my lt250r for about 15 years and ride the hell out of it. The two stroke engine is very easy to learn. And not hugely expensive to make mistakes on!
If you do pull the top end off again put in new boysen racing reeds (they work much better and are significantly cheaper than the stock ones). Get a new gasket set. and new plug. I am assuming that the shop where you got the piston did the cylinder bore and that they ordered the correct size piston to bore. So worst case you should only have to by another set of rings from wiseco. It is a great reliable bike.
