im doin a lot of feild and trailin. should i keep the air box lid on, and the snows gonna be coming soon so if im doin that type of riding, should i just keep it on

Yes. You should always have the lid on your airbox if there is a chance dirt can find its way into your airbox and if your back tires can spin it up, it will end up anywhere and everywhere. Your air filter is one of the most important things on your bike because it keeps dirt out of your engine which would cause a lot of damage. If you leave the lid off your air box then there is a good chance that it will get wet. Not only then is there a chance that it will make your air filter less effective of passing clean air through it, there is yet a chance that dirty water will start to pass through it also which would not be good anywhere, be it the carb or the engine. In my opinion the only time you should run without a air box lid is if you have a dragster that you use on pavement ONLY!
