2000 king quad 300 wont stay running

Hi, I have a 2000 King quad 300 that has been sitting for a while say about 14 months i dumped the gas and put fresh stuff in... it will run all day long but it will not let me press the gas at all it just dies out.... any ideas>???>?>?

Well chances are after that long your carb is full of gum so the first thing I would try would be to clean the carb out. Also check your valve tappet clearances. Dad had a similar problem with his kawasiki when I used to ride it and it ended up being the valves way out of spec.
