more power

:) what can i buy or do to get more power out of my 87 lt 230 ideas and links would be greatly appriciated

1) K&N Air Filter; Only about 40 bucks or so but its awsome bolt on power

2) Exhaust system; Get a new silencer, or if you got the money get the whole system where you get the silencer and the header pipe too. I recomend FMF here but its really a choice your going to have to make for yourself. HMF is another good choice

3) Jet Kit; With the pipe chances are you are going to need to rejet your carb so while your at it you might as well put some nice jets in there. You can hit up hmf or fmf again for these too.

This few things should really put a smile on your face!

If your gonna get an exhaust you might as well should get the jet kit with it so you can get the HP's that your looking for.Sorry Demon Rider! but HMF is only good for the track because it's too loud 98-100db's you don't want that if you have nieghbors truuuusssst meeee! and another thing don't believe people when they say "The Louder The more HP" not true it's a proven fact Dirt Wheels mag wrote 2 pages explaining this in their last 2 issues.I also agree with Demon Rider as for the K&N air filter that is the best air filter in my opinion.When the time comes that you put these new mods in, make sure you do an oil change & put a new oil filter and You'll have a great running quad.

Lol I know that this is an old thread by now but I still had to get my 2 cents in as usual. Had to laugh at you talkin about annoying the neighbors actually. Had the exhaust off of my bike and in doing so managed to wreck the seal between the header pipe and the scilencer. There is such little clearance between these two pipes that if I continue trying to get the seal in place myself I will ruin this seal as well. So now I have a bike that has a major exhaust leak before the scilencer and it is very loud. Waiting for the off season to take it down to my buddy to pop it into place for me now since it is so close and I want to sneak in as many rides as I can before the snow comes. In the mean time i'm lucky for living in outport Newfoundland as people arn't very particular when it comes to noise regulations. In fact in the last month the only person I have managed to annoy with my bike is dad and I think thats only because my bike is so much faster than his ;P

Yeah, it's an old tread but you still had fun with it;) .I laughed about how much you annoyed your dad with the loudness of your exhaust and not your neighbors FUNNEEE! I have 12 acres in the back of my house & 40 more acres on the other side of my property and I still annoy my neighbors and we have FMF exhaust on all our quads it's not like we have HMF's if we did then they would really hate us.And Demon Rider get that seal fixed on your exhaust cause your still robbing power out of rpm's lol, not good!
