hows it going everyone!! have a question, I finally decided to get a kickstarter on my quad i have a yfz450, so now that im doing that i realized shoot i dont have lights on my quad or anything eletrical soo is there any use in keeping the battery?? .. thanks!

Well it depends on what year your machine is. If its 04-05 you can remove the battery just fine. If its an 06, if battery is removed, miss fires could occur, you will need to install a capacitor kit.

ok, well its a 2005 soo i guesse i should be good then...what would the capacitor kit do if i had to install that?

Capacitors store electrical energy. On a quad, there is a part called that "Stator". It is like an alternator on regular vehicles. Through the stator electrical energy is built and stored in capacitors. When the piston comes up on the compression the electrical energy stored in the capacitors is released, causing the spark to jump the gap on the spark plug, thus causing the power stroke. 04-05 YFZ450s have the capability of not needing capacitors, most likely because they already have them. 06 YFZ450s need the battery to provide power so there will be enough power to keep the sparks happening.
