07 Sportsman backfiring thru the air fliter

I have an 07 sportsman 500 Fuel Injected,backfires thru the air box and will not start.problem comes and goes............anybody got any ideas?

That is a really weird one. I have never heard of that before. Have you had the bike long? Have you done any mods to the bike? All I can really think of off the top of my head is that maybe your timing is horribly off, like having the piston coming to TDC with the intake valve open. It's a real long shot but maybe, again it's the only thing I can see.

wait. Comes and goes......that blows out my timing theory. Thats gona be one for the dealer.
