Hello, from Osoyoos B.C.
Planning on buying my first quad. I have had motorcycles and dirt bikes in the past, but age is a factor now and speed is not my objective. I do however enjoy the climbing with power when needed. Most riding will be old logging roads, trails and ocassionally no trails. I need a machine that can plow snow, and as I am on an acreage I do have the ocassional log to pull or rocks to move etc. general things. I am looking at the 500 cc Rubicon and have heard lots of good things about it........and a few bad comments but the good far outweigh the bad. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me before I buy?? Some say to get bigger tires right from the get-go.....is that necessary?

I think it's a good choice that your getting a Honda period.I see nothing wrong with the Rubicon 500.I think it's perfect for what you need it for especially if your gonna put a snow plow on it and pull some logs the Rubicon 500 will do.Big wheels aren't necessary unless your going mud bogging plus it messes up your steering column because of the weight of the wheels.Listen, you can't go wrong with Honda if you take of it, it will take care of you :D .Now a ? for you what model are you getting? Is it the Foreman Rubicon Gpscape or the Foreman Rubicon? Just a little curious! either one is fine choice ;) .

yfzgirl,
thanks for the comments! The model I am looking at is trx500pg, Canadian Trail Edition Rubicon......only because it is rated for both ends, WORK AND PLEASURE. I have not had a test ride as yet but will soon. I will not specifically be looking for mud so I guess the stock tires will do fine. I will however be smelling the air and taking in the scenery.
