So yesterday i did the deed and i went and bought myself a new quad. well not new but looks damn new. the dealer that i got it from bought it at auction its a all stock 07' trx450r very very clean but he said that the thing could have been sitting around for a great length of time. i am 100% new to this quad scene never owned or maintained a quad. not really sure what i NEED to get done to the thing before i take it out and hit it hard. should i take it in for a full tune-up? i was told to drain the gas thats in it, get the carb cleaned, put new jets in it... i am not sure where to start?:confused: ? if someone could make a maintenance checklist that would be awesome. like i said i am very green to this quad riding situation :D!!! also prices of these things or what i should be expecting to pay. so yea... thankyou very much and ride saaaafely...

SWWEEET.
1)Okay welll. Get Bel-Ray Thumper* Engine Oil (10w 40.) For the engine, NEW Oil filter, Honda's HP Trans (Red Bottle 80w), for the tranny side. The Thumper is a Semi-Synthetic after you use that you cant go back. But IT IS better!
2)Then Take your swing-arm pivot blot out and grease and put anti seize on it. Shock Mounts/Linkage mounts/a-arm bolts: grease them up! The factory uses crappy grease it isn't that water proof. Go to your dealer or Auto-zone and pick up PREMIUM bearing grease.
3)Make sure the Ti-rods are tight.
4)Make sure the axle lock nut is tight (to tighten lift up)
5)Pull the air-box off, clean the filter and then oil it with filter oil, or 2stoke oil. While the air-box is off clean the intake boot going to the carb, cleaning it of any dirt particals that will clog ur gets. -The pull the carb, You can take it apart and clean it but necessary tho. Deff drain ALL the gas out of tank and the bowl.
6) Let the modifications begin! Get a DASA! lol J.k good luck, if u need any other tips ask! I just tore my whole 450r apart..
