my mojave is a kick start and it seems like it's not getting any fuel. it will fire off of ether but once i touch the throttle it bogs down and quits running. i've already checked the main fuel line into the carb and the petcock on the tank and they are fine, and i also drained the bowl. is there anything i can do besides tearing apart the carb?

I'm running all stock parts. it's been sitting in my buddies garage since about october when it would start off two kicks. i don't know all that much about carbs so it's kind of hard for me to answer the other questions.

was the gas left on while it sat? Change the gas out, drain the bowl. Get Gum- Out Carb cleaner take the bowl off, jets out spray the clearer thru the jets. Clean out the carb w. some q-tips or paper towel. Sounds like u have a clog.

changing the gas was the first thing i did. and you're probably right about it being clogged. you have any tips on getting the carb out easy? because that thing is a pain the neck to remove.

nah but i suggest some rubbing alchohol and q-tips, tune your jets in when it starts, and use some starting fluid... it will help a lot

If you can get to one side of the carb you might be ok. I had mine clogged up but all I done was remove the airbox and the little pipe that connects the air box to the carb and then I just spraid a fair amount of carb cleaner into the carb. Put it back togeather and she started, after a few false starts. Also do yourself a favor and start the bike outside because the smell of carb cleaner and old gas is not very nice at all as it comes out the exhaust!

Check the ignitions like coil plugs and current flow, also check the fuel pump and filter.
