in 2007 i got in a motorcycle accident and had lost the use of my left foot wich in my case = no shifting i was wondering if anyone knew of any type of automatic thumb shifting mechanism? i know they exist for street bikes but was wondering if anyone had installed something like this on a quad or knows of anyone that actually produces such a product.

the crf bike may be tricky, but u could work with a quad.. might have to do some fabricating to make like a shift knob like a car... how sever is the injury? cant more ankle or whole leg?

i juat cant move my foot straight up. all the tendons were taken out of the leg that runs along my shin bone. i found a guy thats a paraplegic that rides a crf450 named ricky james. i think he might use a air shifting system?

Yea i seen that, What about like a mountain bike shifter (dual one) Get a stock shifter cut it drill a hole mount clutch receiver on the end, run a cable down connect two tension springs somewhere, there u go thumb/index shifter.. patent pending lol

I know exactly what your talking about it's called the speed shifter and it's made by Pingel. You can shift up and down with a push of a button and it shifts in milliseconds allowing smooth shifts. You can mount it next to your right grip and it's hardly even noticeable if your interested go to, pingelonline.com A lot of pro racers are using it now cause it's a fast way for shifting. It can be installed on Honda's,Yamaha,Kawi,Polaris and Suzuki. Now there is another one called the stick shifter which is connected to the foot shifter and you can find it on, Atvworks.com & atvpartsstore.com.I hope this information helps ;) .
