My kid was on the quad the other day and it just died, its a 500I arctic cat 4x4. No power anywere, won't start with a boost, I am a auto mechanic by trade and checked for power, fuses ect. No apperant broken wires, all seem good. I have no lights or power to the winch. One of the terminals on the battery was broken slightly, which I am about to replace but it should have went with a boost no?
One thing I did notice is the key will not come out of the ignition any more, making me think ignition?
I live in Canada and we are about to have 8.7 feet of snow,(jk) I have a 1100 foot long driveway and need my plow quad. :D
Any help ??

Buddy I don't know what to tell you. A quad should be able to start with a recoil starter without even having a battery in it UNLESS Artic Cat is starting to follow after the automotive industry where you need a charged battery to keep you car running but thats your area anyway. BRP bikes got this limp home mode where if something goes wrong with your bike (low oil or something similar that will cause trouble to the engine if you keep her running) and this makes the bike only do like 15 or 20 kph. I'm not very farmiliar with Artic Cat bikes but if they have a similar program your best bet it to take it to a good dealer.

thanks for the reply! Turned out to be a main 30a fuse... I seen it there but I thought it was some kind of retainer for the connector, you know like they have on auto ABS systems. I have never seen a olive green fuse before:rolleyes:
Cost of repair... the lighter fuse in my old ford.
