I’m looking at purchasing a couple of Polaris quads. They’re both 2005 Polaris Sportsman ATV's; one is a 500 and one is a 600 twin.

The original owners are around 50 years old, so I don’t expect they have been used for much of anything except “tooling around” ghost towns here in the Nevada desert and they both appear to have been well taken care of.

My question is they both have about 2000 hours on them, at what mileage range should I start becoming concerned?

If the quad is in good condition & it has 2000 hours I don't think you should worry to much. For your own peace of mind you should bring it in to your local dealership just to make sure. Some quads are different from others.Again I really don't think you should worry.

Considering it is an older couple that had the bike I wouldn't be to worried about it as long as they done kept everything up to date. ie: oil changes, bearings, bushings and other general lubrication. If all this was taken care of than the bike will be like new.
