hey guys i recently sold both my quads to make some money and buy a new one. I'm having some trouble deciding whether to get a 450, or the Raptor 700r. I pretty much had my heart set on the Suzuki Quadracer, but now that a friend has mentioned the 700 im not sure what to do. I do mostly trail riding but i do plan on bringing it on the track as well. Price isn't too much of an issue, I've noticed there almost in the same price range anyway. Any opinions? Suzuki Quadracer R450 or the Yamaha Raptor 700R? Also out of the 450s, do you guys think Suzuki is a good way to go?

Welcome to the forum, if your gonna get a quad get the Yamaha Raptor700 or the YFZ450 both are good for track & trail & their also easy on the maintenance.I have the YFZ450 and I gotta tell you, it's a beautiful thing! I don't believe in Suzuki cause they end up having problems in less than 2yrs. Also Honda is an excellent choice.I have an 01-Honda250ex for 8yrs. never had a problem with it & I ride both my Yamaha & Honda everyday.I hit tracks & trails with both my quads.

Yo. Don't forget about the polaris outlaw. You can choose between straight axle or irs and you can even get it with a KTM powerplant. Since you do mostly trail riding and you still want to go to the track I highly recomend it. I have an 06 Outlaw and I love it. The irs allows me to go down trails in the back woods faster then any utility quad or race quad could ever dream of. When it comes to the track you might be better off with a straight axle but the irs still jumps nice and it can slide through the corners like anything else. One final note when we are in the pit the boys with the straight axles got to stop every 5 minutes and move the rocks out of the because they are always smashing off their swing arm but I can keep on riding no problem what so ever.

If your gonna go trail riding most of the time & hit the tracks I suggest you get something versatile like the Raptor 700r it's perfect for what you want it for.The Suzuki LT-R450 is wide, big & clumsy I got this guy at my track who's always turning over with this quad & he just got his.Now he's talking about bringing it back & getting the YFZ450 because he rode mine at the track & fell in love with how it took to the jumps & turns so easily. All he kept saying was "Damn that thing is fast" ! I'm not a Polaris hater but the truth is their not that great maintenance wise.Tooooo many problems with the parts. If you do get one it's gonna cost you whole bunch of money on after market parts just get it right.I go trail riding & even racing with my Honda 250ex & it never fails me all year round or where ever I go.Both of my atv's are my favorite because I don't have to worry maintenance wise or for parts.I use my YFZ450 for strictly racing.

I will agree that the yfz is an excelent bike for racing and they jump real nice. I will even go so far as to say that they produce some of the best wheelies that I have sceen. However. I got to ask the question to yfzgirl, "what are these continuous breakdown problems you keep saying polaris has cuz I got one and it dont have any trouble?"

I think the reason why these guy's at my local track are having problems with their quads is because they ride Hard & Rough. All three of them have the Polaris fully stock no mod's & their jumping table tops, stutters & whoops.Oh! I forgot to mention that one of them always crashes after each jump & always lands in an accident. The guy's a genius with his stunts:rolleyes: .The reason why they don't throw him out is cause he's owner's nephew.By the way just back from the track today & I noticed that the genius has a brand new Honda 400ex-08.No disrespect to anyone, but it just upsets me when someone abuses a quad or a dirt bike cause these machines are so expensive.
