Hi guys, I need help on yamaha afz 450. Back at battery got a plug in thats has a 30amp fuse, as I push the start button it blows. sounds like grounding out somewhere can anyone help so I can narrow this down to where it is. I have a tester just don't know what results I should be getting from each terminal Thanks in advance. Jack

You won't need your mulitmeter for this but it's going to be a real pain in the hole. I'm willing to bet that you got a ground somewhere (insulation has worn off the positive wire and is now touching the metal frame (negative) of the bike). What your going to need to do is start at the battery and chase the wire and check the insulation over the entire length of the wire. Not going to be fun at all let me tell you now. When you find the ground what I would recommend to you is to cut the wire and slip some heat shrink tubing onto the wire and then reattach it and seal it with the heat shrink. This stuff works real well and I use it frequently whenever an electrical job comes my way.
