Why do you need to? have you had it apart? clutch adjustment is a screw and locknut on engine side case, undo locknut, turn screw clockwise till you feel some slight resistance then turn it back about quarter turn and lock it off again. timing is more complicated, are you mechanically minded? let me know and i'll run you through it step by step if you like.

yes, i am honda certified through scoville-meno honda of oneonta ny, i have a pretty good knowledge of mechanics, so if you could walk me through the timming chain adjustment procedure i would greatly appreciate it...also..if you wouldn't mind.....how hard is it to adjust the valves and how do you attempt to do this!? Thanks again...

a little history on my quad..
it is a kawasaki 250 mojave frame that i welded motor mounts in for the honda 198cc 4 stroke motor...the motor fires up every time and runs great, but blows a little blue smoke and uses a little oil. I was told the valves could be adjusted and that doing that could cure my engines smoking addiction.

Hi, what is the engine you used out of, is it an ATC engine? Valves are fairly easy, should be 2 caps on top of your engine, undo them and you'll find the tappets underneath, adjust your engine to top dead centre and both tappets should then move slightly to the touch, as far as i can remember this engines valves should be set at 0.15 so slacken the little lock nut on top of the tappet and put your feeler gauge in the gap that you'll see, turn the little screw that the lock nut was on till it drags slightly when you put the feeler gauge in the gap, lock them off again checking that the little screw doesn't turn! refit the caps and thats your valves done... If you pm me your email i'll see if i can send you the honda technical manual which tells you how to do this and your timing..... any probs, just ask
