I'v been lookin around for different quads..and these r the only two which stick out too me..the only problem is the price. The Outlaw 450 is £5000 band new! never been on the road..and the 600 is £6,500 which has never been on the road either!
so i'm just askin which ,in your mind ,would b the best buy? if even these two!
or can anyone else suggest a good quad for me? i'v had experience with driving quads..Raptor 800 farm quad..
so can anyone help?

The 600 has more power obviousely and it also depends on your budget.Honestly ,I would suggest a Honda or Yamaha they are more reliable in handeling and maintnence wise.If you really like Polaris then I would suggest the 600.

Don't be scared off by the kawi-honda-yama-zuki guys. Although this is supposed to be the big 4 in the atv world most everyone sill underestimates polaris. I can't vouch for the straight axle outlaw a i have never ridden it but the irs version in unreal. You don't even know it's under you. Of course if this is going to be strictly a racing bike or track bike then i would recommend you get the straight axle but otherwise try out the irs. No one will be able to keep up with you in the woods, they are able to drift amazingly an they can also jump with ease. By the way since when did Polaris make an Outlaw 600. I have followed the Outlaw line since they came out in 06 and the only models I have heard of is the original 500, 450 mxr (straight axle), 525 straight axle and the 525 irs.

He means the Polaris 2004 sportsman-600.If you just started following Polaris in 06 that's why you may not know about it.I find that a lot of ppl don't know about the 04-Polaris600 sportsman 4x4.I agree with you that the Polaris is a great quad to ride but there are to many parts problems with their quads.Go Honda or Yamaha or you'll be at the mech's quite a few times.Trust me I know from experience.I here a lot of guys at the track complaining all the time about different Polaris problems. They always end up selling the problem to someone else.

Well if he ment the sportsmen then that makes more sense. As for the mechanical issue: I ride my bike really hard as do most people with sport bikes and yes i'll admit I have had to spend a few days in the shed with the socket set out working on my bike. However 99% of the work done to my bike is just usual stuff you would have to do with any bike; ie: oil changes, replacing old bushings and greasing bearings that kind of thing. The only actual problem I had with my bike happened while she was still under warenty. The plastic on the side of the radiator rubbed through the radiator but hey, every new bike has something weird happen to it. They had it replaced in a few days and now I got a few spacer washers in between the plastic and the rad so it won't happen again. Also my uncle has a 500 sportsmen and has never had a hitch with it while my dad got a kawasiki and it pretty much lives at the dealer with more mechanical trouble then I got time to write out. However I feel I do have to mention that the clutch blew up on him one day and he really babies his bike. Weird Huh.

As matter of fact it's not weird at all I can relate to that.I baby both my quads and that's why their always in good shape. You got to keep on top of things if you want them to last.My 250ex has been with me for 8yrs. and no problems, why? Cause I change the oil every 4months,clean the oil filter, reset the jetting cause I race in PA.,N.J. & Flo and change of climate messes with the both my quads. The YFZ450-08 that I have is like a baby I got to keep on top of it cause it's a racing bike.Try to get graphics for the plastic so you won't scratch it up anymore.;)

I think you misread my last message. What I found weird was that dad's bike is only a few years old and it never get to see wide open throttle, except for the 10 minutes I had her, and yet one day as we were getting ready to leave the cabin she kept stalling out. When we pulled off the clutch cover the clutch fell out in little tiny pieces. Not bad for an automatic. And just for the record I do take real good care of my bike but if i'm out for a run and I land a bit hard and break a sway bar; well I could really care less because I bought my bike to ride hard. If I wanted something just to look at I would have saved some money and bought a poster.

OH, Take a chill pill! I didn't mean anything bad by what I said.If anything I was complementing you for taking care of your bike because you said, you spend time in the shed fixing your bike when something go's wrong. So do me a favor don't get nasty there is no need for it! Your right about what you said quads are not to look at there to ride & have fun.Listen I'm not the bad guy here.If anything I'm a very laid back person & I don't like to offend others, it's not my nature cause I wouldn't like people to offend me I don't agree with that type of behavior. This forum is a cool forum not a fighting forum like ( motocross.com ) Let's talk quads & not fight.
